Abstract

The observation of the spatial rainfall distribution, medium or long periods, highlights the regularities of rhythm climate of a region, enabling find other areas wetter and drier, and the transition regions. This study aims at analyzing the seasonal quarterly and annual total rainfall in the sub-basin 63 in Mato Grosso do Sul (direct tributary of the Paraná basin), and occurs as a spatio-temporal variability of its rains . It's used total quarterly and annual precipitation time series of 30 years of rainfall data from the sub-basin 63 in Mato Grosso do Sul. In the region surrounding the part of Mato Grosso do Sul, the sub-basin 63, it was concluded that there is a predominance of type tropical climate or altitude tropical, with summer rains and dry winter. The highest rates of annual rainfall (1600-1800 mm) were observed in the Northwest, Midwest and southern sub-basin 63 in Mato Grosso do Sul, according to the average history of 30 years studied, 1977 to 2006. Already the eastern sub-basin 63, in Mato Grosso do Sul, recorded annual minimum of 1150 mm. In the first quarter of the year, which was the wettest, there was a total of 700 mm. Have a minimum of the first quarter of the year was 520 mm, according to the average history of 30 years studied, 1977 to 2006.
